I am a Nigerian. I am Not Evil.

Image
Dear Nikky. After reading your article on Spousal murder , I felt it imperative to add my voice to yours by boldly pointing out that SPOUSAL MURDER IS NOT A NIGERIAN THING. I am a Nigerian, a husband and a father. I have been married to my wife for seven years. In all these seven years, I am proud to say that I have never lifted a finger against her, I have been a loving, caring, stable and by God ’ s grace and in the words of my wife; “ a super-wonderful husband and father ” . That is why I take exception to articles and stories all over the web painting Nigerian men as uncaring, callous and wife-hating husbands.  E very marriage has its ups and downs but it takes a real man to keep the flag of his marriage flying. Like every married couple, w e have had our set-backs, temptations and misunderstandings but in the midst of them, we never lost sight of our love and commitment to each other. We always found a way to settle and have always pulled through together as a...

Spousal Murder...

The news of the 53 year old man who slaughtered four of his children after quarreling with his wife the previous night gave me chills for days. As I read through similar stories of senseless spousal murders and family violence by jealous husbands, bitter wives, angry in-laws as in the case of Mrs. Nkechi Onyejegbu who was brutally murdered by her husband’s brothers, many questions ran through my brain already bemused by scary and extremely graphic images. Are these stories and images real? Why are Nigerian couples killing themselves? These people no de fear God? If person no wan marry again na by force?

I want pepper!!

Children are very interesting and over smart oh. That was how I went to this lovely hotel just to relax with a client and her very cute son. We placed our orders and before long they served us this very appetizing meal of Jollof rice with peppered goat meat garnished with shredded green pepper and plantain. I hardly eat. In fact, eating food is always a big challenge but the aroma and a look at the properly garnished meal woke my appetite from its deep slumber. Sharply saying my prayer, I dug in and was enjoying my meal when the lady's son yelled out "I want pepper!" The kid had being very quiet all day and had refused to smile at me and my usual pranks. Confused at his sudden outburst, I looked up and noticed he was pointing at my plate. Haba, why would he point at my plate instead of his mum's, I thought while trying to act amused and ignore that the lady's plate was almost empty. "He likes pepper." She explained and tried to feed him a ...

In Too Deep...

I love animals.  Wait a minute, by "animals" I mean that I love domestic animals and definitely not the wild ones.  Meanwhile, I heard cats are adorable and some people just can't stop gushing about them. That's cool but I will pass. It is nothing personal and you can blame  all the scary movies for my skepticism.   Puppies on the other hand are so cute, observant, cuddly, smart, clingy and can be your best friend, baby, confidant or whatever you want. I prefer a pet dog any day. Their love and trust for you is absolute. Well that was my opinion before my misadventure some years back.

Confessions 2

Image
Find Confessions 1 I had returned from the States and settling down was the least thought on my mind. My parents however felt that getting married to a family friend who shared the same social status with us was the best way to keep me from losing my soul to gold diggers. With their minds made up, it was hard to get them to see reasons with me.

A LIFE COURSE

Vivian Winifred made my day with this article. True words for the wise from the wise...  If you find yourself in a relationship on which you must spend money to impress the other party, or tell lies to retain attraction, you have to do either of two things: quit the relationship or go for counseling to build self-esteem and revalue self-worth.

Tesa II - Merciless

Image
Eliminating the multi-billionaire was her optimum plan. Paula had forgiven him for not loving her back, for not being by her death bed. Paula was an angel unlike Tesa who had sworn to avenge her death. The world needed to be rid of Demons like Melvin. He had seduced, married and deserted Paula for the arms of floozies he brought back home to mock her. Paula's heart was broken, for that reason his would be an agonizing death. Their first meeting was no coincidence and as expected, he had fallen for her sagacity, the deal her company had to offer and her regal beauty. Their third date was on his expensive yacht, his trust had deepened, he was eager to please and had dismissed his bodyguards for the first time in months. Her plan for the night was in motion and her stylist was the best money could afford.  Tesa smiled at her reflection in the mirror. She looked ravishing in a glamorous strapless dinner gown that left nothing to the imagination. Her hair was packed up...

See Wahala!!

It was a stressful day and cooking dinner was out of the question. All I craved for was a comforting dish of thoroughly spiced Marinated local chicken with a refreshing bottle of my best beverage. A look at my wrist watch reminded me that the perfect garden for my chicken waka would be crowded at that time. Ditching my bags, I rushed out again.

Evening outing with the Girls

It was a lovely day and organizer (lady B) decided a picnic just for the girls at a nice spot would make sense. Yeah, busy girls also flex...lol! Our amateur camera lady tried to save the memories.
