I know it's not the Valentine Season but permit me to share my story with you. Feel free to share it on your blog, it's fine with me.  I have always categorized people into different strata. At the top are those born with what I call diamond spoons—the privileged, the untouchable, those living the glam life. Then there are people like me who are occupying the lowest rung of the social ladder. People struggling to find even a broken spoon. Judging by where I found myself at birth, it's obvious I had no say in the creation matter and didn’t get to choose my parents or the family I was born into. Wait a minute, did I say parents? Well, I was abandoned infront of an orphanage by an unknown person. So my first steps were taken within the walls of the orphanage home. As a child, I was oblivious of my unfortunate situation. Did you know that every Christmas season, the streets of Germany come alive with open-air markets known as Christkindlmarkt (the little city of wood and cloth)? These historical markets usually adorn the beautiful market squares of cities only during the Advent Season and end on the Christmas eve in most cities. Although this tradition dates back to the middle ages, today they still resonate the  past.

Old Post I always look back with nostalgia to my teen years back in the 90s. Nikky Christmas was fun on another level back then especially because it was a time for eating delicious delicacies, wearing your Christmas cloth, enjoying a bottle of drink alone instead of sharing it with others, watching masquerades and dance troupes to exhibit their skills. My big dream was to join a masquerade group and get to be the masquerade. So i was excited when some boys in my class who also lived on my street decided to form a masquerade group and asked me to join them. My dream was coming true and I gladly became a member. We turned into designers and picked rafia from the bush, colored, sewed them together to make a garment for our masquerade.

Hello Nikky, I love the pictures you have been sharing with us this season. But I just want to share this my first experience Of White Christmas with you and everyone. As a teenager, I always loved watching or seeing Hollywood Christmas movies especially on Hallmark movies Channel. Its something I looked forward to every Christmas. The best part was always the part they play in the snow, build snow men or when I hear stuff like; "its white Christmas!" I remember I used to wish we had snow during Christmas in Naija. I would have given anything to convince God to change our yeye harmattan to winter.

We are now in the second week of December and I'm guessing that you are already screaming; where are the days rushing to?" I understand that feeling. Infact, I recall when I used to wonder if December was indeed 31days because it always ended before you were even ready for the month to begin.  Once schools close for the holiday, everything starts spiraling out of control and down hill. Items become annoyingly pricey especially at a time when your pocket is tight and you need to buy new decorations for the house, gifts for everyone and fuel the car for your trip. Even airplane tickets skyrocket, leaving you wondering who we offended in this country.

The evening wind picked up and chased dead leaves along the partly muddy road as Kene tried to figure out what just happened but his brain refused to process the events surrounding him that evening.  I am probably drunk and must have dozed off somewhere after last night’s birthday parte; a part of him analyzed. He grabbed Kene by the shirt, shoved him  backwards and pinned him on Bam Bam's car.  Kene winced from the impact and pushed  against his rock solid chest but his struggles were like that of a kid pushing against a bag of bricks. He gasped for breath as the huge man's elbow dug into his chest, holding him in place.  Bam Bam rubbed a finger against her brow and sighed loudly; "Leash your dog Dapo. You can't go about assaulting innocent people!" "Let me go! After some seconds of staring at the door in search of a handle he sat back confused.  "How do I get out? Where is the handle bikonu?" He looked at the drivers door and back at his side as he tried to figure out how to exit the car which was totally different from his old model or any model he had ever had the privilege of being inside.   "Did she lock me inside?" He asked himself while a startled expression settled on his tired face;  "I am trapped! She said I'm going nowhere so she trapped me in her car!  I'm finished!"
