December to Remember 5

Growing up in an orphanage has it's perks one of which is my ability to beat down an opponent or wrestle anyone without fear. My skills were sharpened by the uncountable fights I had engaged in over the years. I even have scars to show for the few times I had lost, so Seun never saw me coming.

One minute I was in front of him and before he could step off his high pedestal, his strapping body, adorned in the latest Versace blazers, was on the floor of the bar and yours sincerely was astride him. My skirt rode up my laps as my fists connected severally with his RBB jaw. He screamed but I didn't care.

I won't lie to you, it was an exhilarating experience. It felt like being liberated. All my worries and pent up emotions fueled my strength. I wrestled to maintain my position on his stomach as he struggled to push me off. Thinking back now, it must have been an awkward scene being on top of him like we were shooting a raunchy movie but at that time nothing but the honor of my staff mattered. I needed to teach him a lesson the only way I understood.

My high lasted but a few minutes. Strong hands yanked me off his body and I watched him struggle to get off the floor. His  bodyguards and two police officers barged into the bar and before I could catch my breath I was matched off to the nearest Police station.

The reality of my actions settled in when I saw myself being stripped of my personal belongings and tossed behind the counter. It was the 23rd of December and my boss was not picking my calls. Tears streamed down my face as I wrote my statement. This was my first police case and it felt like my life had just ended.

Who would bail me out now, was the question ringing in my head as my eyes tried to adjust to the dim lighting of the cell I was shoved into.
