No more Christmas Friction

citifmonline.com "Wife: Honey Christmas is approaching. Husband: Thanks for reminding me. Can't wait. Wife: Get me a Tablet for Christmas. Husband: Really? Wife: Yeah. Husband: Paracetamol or Vitamin C? Wife: I mean Samsung Tablet baby Husband: Relax!! It's Jesus Birthday not yours."  Truth be told, I thought the short story was hilarious but from experience I know it could lead to marital feuds and nobody enjoys fighting at Christmas. We all deserve to have a Merry Christmas and even if you feel your relationship is beyond fixing, I still believe this article by Joan Thatiah might do the needed magic. Oh, before we start, you can read up my previous articles on gifts Here . Okay, let's do this:

Pursuit of Happiness

Image
credit - Qed.ng Do you feel unhappy with your current status?  Do you feel there is something you should sacrifice or gain just to become happier?   Are you in pursuit of happiness?  I'm guessing you have heard the phrase; money makes the world go round . If so, then probably you believe that being broke or having no money would make your world stagnant or go into Pause Mode . It therefore follows that; No Money means Pause Mode which would invariably result in Unhappiness. If the above rightly describes how you feel about Happiness, then this article is for you:

N421 Million...

Image
If you were paid N421Million for being a good citizen of Nigeria what would you do? I have been pondering over that question ever since it was confirmed that the REAL Ikoyi whistle blower who assisted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to recover $43.5 million, £27,800 and N23.2 million at No. 16 Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, yesterday received N421Million commission by the ministry of Finance. The FGN also promised to pay the balance next year.

Rice again?

Image
Pic credit: knorr.ng It's Christmas again and you are probably thinking; rice is expensive, how we go do? My question is; must we eat rice every Christmas? Nigerians are extremely inlove with "rice". Every special occasion without Jollof rice; white rice with sauce and/or fried rice is like committing a heinous crime. People would eat whatever you have to offer and still be on the look out for their tasty rice, whoever  did us this thing sha!

Did you run that check?

They are our house helps, drivers, gate men/guard and sometimes the regular handyman who fixes broken pipes and any other broken item in our homes or the sweet lady who does your household shopping. They are usually very helpful, cheap or affordable, if you prefer. We have tight schedule and can't imagine life without them. But the big question is; Can you trust them? Can you sleep peacefully with that stranger in your home? Did you even check him or her out before making them permanent members of your home? Were you too busy to conduct a proper check or too excited at the cheap labor that you forgot to ask for a guarantor? Are  you sure they are not ex-convicts, pedophiles, murderers, kidnappers or terrorists? Okay okay, someone wants to quote verses from the Holy Bible and  Quran for me. Yeah, I know the gospel of Matthew 25:35 says; “ For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me " and the Quran in 1

Imo saga...Season 3

Call me the lady who saw tomorrow, but I saw this coming. I remember mentioning (private gossip group) that Imolites must be in love with their governor as the only "we no go gree" we hear are on social media. We can't blame them, wars are now being fought on Twitter. Some nation's are being ruled from there too... I didn't say anything .

Lost but found brother...

Image
pic credit: neurosciencenews.com I had trusted him. We dined together and I opened the doors of my home and heart to him. He was a brother I found in a distant land. I gave him the reigns of my business until the betrayal. How could Moh do this to me? Moh swindle me? Never! I tried to rationalize his motives. I fought the thought that he would intentionally steal from me but the evidence was in black and white. It had been going on for months and he was so good that it took a miracle for me to uncover the ploy. My heart shattered. The pain was unbearable and deep. I was about heading over to confront him openly when he walked in. His explanations did not add up. He had no excuse and the pain I felt was made worse when he apologized. It was the devil and he was sorry, were the words he uttered. Moh was guilty as charged. Friends

Should I Always Be Truthful?

Image
If you haven’t already done so, this is one question you’re going to ask yourself at one point in time or the other. Chances, though, are that you have already asked yourself this question. And if you’re like most human beings, you probably hesitated to arrive at a clear cut answer, weighed a lot of circumstances, and decided you will answer the question some other time.

Y ou must have read diverse opinions or heard of many ways to overcome that low mood or feeling of being fed up with life's challenges. I have read some and they all proffered similar solutions. I don't know about you, but none worked out for me. The truth is; nobody yearns for that low, I give up, I am frustrated mood which is usually triggered by stress. Nobody want to be there. However when it happens, try not to be astonished by the techniques and suggestions that would be proffered by your family and friends as most of them would offer solutions that could leave you dazed for months. Just the same way they rush to conclude that every ailment is malaria, having a low mood is a good reason for everyone to become a Medical personnel overnight. People would start throwing suggestions, commands and every crude solution at you. Some might suggest drinking Agboh (a local anti-malaria brew), going for deliverance or fasting and prayers because your village people migh
