Pre Val's Day - Reality Check For Youths
As the generally acclaimed lovers day (Valentine's Day) draws nearer, most single young people might experience a myriad of emotions. For clarity sake, I will list some emotional feedbacks most people I have talked to usually get at this season. All you have to do is check if any of the categories describe the emotions you are getting at the moment. In other words, do you fall within any of the categories.
Ready? Let's go.
The first group are those who are constantly reminding themselves that they are failures, are not good enough and probably that is why they are still single with no one to share gifts or fond emotions with this season. Some of them go as low as body shaming themselves and their physical appearances by making unnecessary comparisons.
Then comes those who are seeking affirmation by moving with the wrong crowd. These ones invest their time and energy to put up facades and appearances. In their desire to maintain their false world they fake it and most usually end up getting involved in illegal acts just because they need to impress their followers or gain more likes on social media.
The next group are those who are gallantly tolerating emotional and sometimes physical abuse just so that their partners would not leave them before or on Val's day.
I can't forget the group who, as the 14th draws nearer, are beginning to get depressed over their current lack of a financial status and are considering bizarre options that would fetch quick and heavy bank alerts.
The last group are those who have given up on themselves and life. These ones are either abusive, angry at everyone or indifferent, melancholic, have withdrawn from the world, friends and family. They are unmotivated probably because of sad situations they have been exposed to, sickness, decisions, taunts from relatives or close friends or for whatever reason.
Did I omit your current state of mind in the above explication? Hold on, don't be in a haste because I have a quick question for you in our next episode.
