Naughty!

What  do you do when you have a naughty Kid?

This is the story of how my friend Abby attended an event with her child.

Junior can be very naughty. I remember someone once said its only a chain or handcuff that would hold him down. Taking him out for any occasion always ended up awry. Abby and her hubby would arm themselves with a sack load of candies to keep him preoccupied or lobby him with future treats. The boy can demolish any mountain of candy in seconds.

That eventful day, the sitter called in sick, so my friend reluctantly dragged a sleepy Junior with her for a serious event. Before leaving the house, she warned, threatened and eventually promised him all the chocolate in the world if only he would refrain from running up and down the event venue. Junior nodded to the chocolate and a deal was struck.

When they got to the already active venue, Junior tried his best to ignore all the glitter, glamour and flash of several cameras. He meekly followed his mum to their reserved seat and settled in. Abby was joyous; her son was all grown up! Happily, she reminded him of the chocolates again and even added a trip to the amusement park to the tall list of goodies.

The event started and dragged on for quite a long while. Junior tried so hard to remain still but eventually got tired to listening to adults saying words he could not understand. Finally, he gave up.

He shot out of his chair and was about taking off to tour the hall when strong hands grabbed his collar from behind. He looked up as Abby gave him a stern look and shoved him back into his chair;

"I will not buy that Spiderman candy for you again." She threatened.

Junior started sobbing. His heart was broken. He looked at Abby but she was busy laughing at something he could not see. She so engrossed in the event that she didn’t notice when Junior stood up on his chair beside her and the next thing we heard was a loud scream. The hall fell silent.

A giggling Junior ran off towards the exit door with a mass of curly female hair in his tiny hands. Abby was wigless and shielding her head with her handbag, she sprang up in hot pursuit.
