THE TRIONDA

Did You Know that:

Adidas tested the “connected ball technology” at Qatar 2022 with “Al Rihla” and it worked?

Did You Know that FIFA is making the Trionda  connected ball technology standard across all matches at the 2026 World Cup?

So what is the Trionda?

Its definitely not the name of a new cybertruck...lol!

In simple terms, this ball is able to communicate with 12 to 16 stadium tracking cameras to provide automated alerts to VAR for goal-line incidents, offsides, and fine deflections. The ball has a tiny chip/IMU sensor inside it which is calibrated before kick-off.

What the chip does:

1. Offside calls: It pings data 500 times per second. So when combined with player tracking cameras, VAR can tell the exact millisecond the ball was kicked. No more offside debates.

2. Handball/touches: chip can detect if the ball hit a hand/arm or if there was a tiny deflection. All those “did it touch him?” moments have been sorted out.

3. Speed Stats: We can now get real-time data on shot speed, spin, and so on. Broadcasts are gonna go crazy at this rate

Will this put an end to the “ball didn’t cross the line” drama?

Time will tell...

Omo, the Trionda is more than the usual/normal football, so click on the link in the comment for everything you need to know.
