David stared at her with unconcealed disappointment. Why would a mature woman behave like a bitter teenager? So this was what Alex had been tolerating? There was no way he was going to let this slide. Infact she would be considered sick in the brain if she ever thought he was going to ignore her attitude tonight.

He slowly went over to the switch board and flipped the light switch on. The room instantly came alive as bright light flooded in from the designed ceiling and walls. Tricia blinked as her brow creased with a deep frown.

"Alex went the extra mile to ensure you are happy." David said slowly as if he was talking to a recalcitrant child,  

"He has a lot going on with his family yet he remembered your birthday because he loves you. But what do you do? Instead of being grateful and appreciative, you decided to act like a half-witted, spoilt teenager!" 

His tone spiked and Tricia sprung up as if stung by a bug. She opened her mouth to retort but David was beyond furious and continued before she could say a word;

"None of our friends would do this for any woman. NONE! I wasnt even in town for my woman's last birthday yet she was happy when I managed to call. She was grateful for the last minute gift I got her. Your entitled, ungrateful self have nagged all night and acted like a f... "

He paused and took a deep breath to calm his emotions. Tricia chose that moment to speak up. She took a step towards him;

"How dare you insult me! You? David? Alex will hear about this once he gets back. You're lucky he is not within the network coverage right now but I promise you one thing, he will hear of your disrespect the moment I get through to him!" 

David laughed out briefly before sneering at her; 

"Sincerely I can't even see what he sees in you. You're not even as beautiful as most of the women begging him to ditch you for them and the worst part is that you lack proper home training." 

David let out a dry laugh that lacked any real humor while his eyes ran down Tracia's form. He was unable to hide his displeasure. His woman had more curves, was taller and definitely more mature. Alex could have chosen any woman yet he decided to settle for Tricia! If he wanted a TV presenter, if that was the catch, there were several very outstanding, smart and sharp ladies to select from.

"You must apologize to me this minute! David I demand an apology right now!" Tricia yelled in his face.
