Wondering what happened to Ada and Harris?
Their story continues below. Enjoy and don't forget to read the first part here -

Ada and Harris

The hall reverberated with more laughter and cheers as Harris gave a slight bow.
He loved Ada from the first moment he set eyes on her slim figure and wide eyes. She was funny, vibrant and annoying. But what attracted him most was her resolve to avoid him like a plague. She was the only woman whose annoying gibberish could make him laugh for days anytime he thought of her. Initially, it was fascination and later; pure friendship, but her selflessness, honesty, compassion, intelligence and the strong attraction he could not resist ensnared him. Nothing could have prepared him for the surge of emotions, but he knew what he needed most and swore never to let go.
Ada's voice filtered into his mind and he could not hide the admiration in his eyes as he stared at his true love, his strength and the mother of his children. He still felt undeserving of her love.

"We've had our harmattan and hurricane seasons, but no storm could shatter our resolve to be together. In fact Harris turned every storm into a magical moment.  He is my pillar and one true love. To the young and newly married, I can only encourage you to stay committed to each other because it will never be all sweet and exciting. Sadly, most people are always very negative and doubtful of stable marriages and couples who are truly in love with each other. Most times, they give your relationship a deadline and expect you to be at each other’s throat before the end of your honeymoon. Today, I emphatically say to you that, the success of your marriage is in your hands.

The truth is that most marriages crash the moment they are started with pessimism and lack of trust. It leaves you hollow and things are worsened by third parties who can be your friends, foes or relations. These people meddle in your affairs whether you approve of it or not. So be wary of them and totally ignore all the lies that would be circulated by bitter people, who either because of the kind of lifestyle they have chosen or because their marriages have failed are desperate to drag any stable relationship in the mud."

Okay, that was not part of her speech but she could not control the urge to tell these people she knew all the games they have been playing. Her eyes swept through the uncomfortable crowd with relish. She could recognize the faces of all those who hurled all the hatred at her and Harris. She suddenly felt like laughing at them for failing to achieve their plans but then, she knew Harris would never approve of it.

"We are grateful to you all for helping us discover our inner strength and and deepening our love. To my darling husband I say; thank you for not giving up on us, for staying committed, steadfast and true to our vows. I never doubted your dedication. You loved deeply even when almost everyone lost hope in my womanhood and our ability to have children. You are our beacon of hope, prayer warrior and a perfect example to our sons who are the best gifts from God.  "

Ignoring the tears running freely down her face and ruining her makeup, she smiled openly at Harris who was now being flanked by their sons. He took a step forward as her soft voice gushed out from the loudspeakers and filled the quiet hall;

"You and the kids are my world and I can only ask God to forever bless and keep us all together.  Ladies and gentlemen, please raise your glasses to a great husband, father and lover... I will forever love you my boo"
