[Catch Up on Episode 5]

"Really? How long has this been going on?" Mrs Metuh queried. 

Dapo was about to respond when Chief's voice cut him off;

"Oh Nonsense. I know my daughter. She is probably chairing a crucial meeting or working relentlessly on a project."

"I knew you would defend her, like father, like daughter." Mrs Metuh giggled and leaned into her husband;  "But Chief, our daughter works too hard. How will she settle down if she continues like this? I want grandchildren and I am sure you can't wait to spoil them."

"I will talk to her when she gets back." 

He leaned down and gently kissed her forehead. She sighed softly and glued her body to his side. Dapo watched them with concealed envy. 

Chief chuckled as his wife whispered in his ears. He turned piercing eyes towards Dapo;

"Your father mentioned you are interested in the red chamber. I must say I'm impressed. Tell me more about your plans for the future."

Dapo grinned; 

"I have always nursed that ambition. I think it's time for the younger generation to bring the needed change and make a difference by stepping into the shoes of great men like you and my father."

Gunning for the Senate was his father's dream, but Dapo would rather flatter Chief's ego than tell him that. 

He had resisted the idea initially especially because his father demanded that he should trim down on his mistresses, cut down on the orgies and pretend to be inlove with and eventually marry the nerdy girl; Sade. It was a big blow, but now he had no objections since it meant getting Sade into his bed, more fame, endless exotic ladies while his father enjoyed the connections and affluence that would come with their victory.

Marriages are contracted to build and ensure one has long lasting allies which are crucial in politics and Chief Metuh being a major stakeholder of the ruling party is the key to the actualization of our dreams. 

Those were his father's exact words. He  had it all planned out and marrying into the Metuh's family was the first step in the big scheme of things. 

According to his father, Dapo being in bed with a major political game changer's daughter would bag him the number three position in the country. That would be if Sade did not mess things up with her recent stupidity. As for Dapo, he would never beg any female so nobody should even expect him to bend the knees and plead with Sade, princess or not. The part of taking crap from Sade was never part of the agreement and was already too much for him to bear.  

Dapo had already informed his father about Sade's domineering attitude, lack of interest and insolence. He had promised to straighten things out the moment they arrived in the country by meeting Chief for the engagement date. If his father needed the relationship to be cemented, then he should come back and do the petting and begging himself. Besides he was keeping to his end of the bargain.

"Chief must you discuss politics now? I think Dapo has his mind set on finding our daughter. He seems so lost without her that he can't even concentrate anymore."

Concentrate? Your stupid daughter can't ruin my fun, ever! Dapo frowned and hoped his sad face was convincing enough;
