I was privileged to speak at a seminar for youths and children during a visit to a local community. It was a perfect opportunity to interact with our future leaders. The seminar actually led me down memory lane, so I took them with  me on the journey and found their rapt attention appealing. When we got to the question and comment segment, a teenager's comment and questions left me dazed. He boldly informed my team and I of his career choice to become a yahoo boy (a person who engages in internet scam or cyber crime). I was deeply distraught by his well thought out reasons for deciding to join the fraud syndicate later in life. My heart shattered at the painful realities that poured out of his innocent heart as he demanded answers for the governments neglect of the citizens fundamental rights especially his right as a child. That overly active legal part of me became aroused and wanted to defend the mess we are drowning in as a nation but I held back. The  boy was right

We will start with a story from an NIB fan. Enjoy it! I always look back with nostalgia to my teen years back in the 90s. Nikky Christmas was fun on another level back then especially because it was a time for eating delicious delicacies, wearing your Christmas cloth, enjoying a bottle of drink alone instead of sharing it with others, watching masquerades and dance troupes to exhibit their skills. My big dream was to join a masquerade group and get to be the masquerade. So i was excited when some boys in my class who also lived on my street decided to form a masquerade group and asked me to join them. My dream was coming true and I gladly became a member. We turned into designers and picked rafia from the bush, colored, sewed them together to make a garment for our masquerade.

Welcome to December. A month of jingle bells, Christmas trees, bright lights, gifts, end of year parties, trips to visit loved ones; shopping, shopping and more shopping; hike in prices of essential commodities and transportation, fake and real Santa, getting drunk, eating carbs and so on. The candle light dinner was magical and the food was exquisite. A lthough I have never been a fan of continental cuisine, I've always loved our local delicacies , that night my tastebuds pleasurably adapted to the strange dishes let me just hope that my stomach will respect herself.  Elvis lacked culinary skills, he can't be good at everything nah. But he made up for it by inviting a chef from one of the best hotel’s in town to prepare and serve us dinner at his luxurious home; an apartment at the new world trade center building.  The apartment was tasteful and the well crafted interior reeked of sophistication, luxury, masculinity and passion. Omo the blend pressed all my buttons and I relaxed,  who no like enjoyment? The night was  perfect and so was Elvis. His exceptional decorum, brilliant conversations and impressive sense of humor raked in more points for him.
