When You are Forced to Walk the Street Nude...

Image
I get pissed off when unruliness becomes the order of the day and Law Officers who are supposed to maintain Law and Order in our society look the other way. Why would a man escape being charged to court for humiliating his wife and forcing her to walk the street nude just because she cheated on him? Nikky will never encourage infidelity or the breaking of a promise to be faithful and sexually exclusive, but forcing another man’s daughter or the mother of your children to parade the street naked because of your broken heart or battered ego is demeaning, barbaric, definitely unacceptable, unlawful and an offense.  The reality is that being a brute and tarnishing that woman’s image will never make you feel any better and you won’t be the first to be cheated on. Whoever does that to anyone should be locked up behind bars. I used to think it was a Nigerian thing because I have read numerous stories of heart broken husbands who, after catching their wives in the act of infide

My Possession...

It was a terrible day. Things started falling apart right from the moment I woke up, so I was not surprised when the pretty bank teller grew fangs. Summing it up as one of those days, I hastily hit the exit button when they finally concluded my transaction. Sighing with relief I pulled out my portable palm top to run through my numerous plans for the day but I instinctively looked up. My breath caught in my throat. Across the busy highway was the answer to my prayers.

One Night 3

CONTINUE FROM 2 Her family had gone to every spiritual house in town all in an effort to discover what actually happened to our adorable Emilia. They have refused to give up hope.  Over the years, many Nigerians have disappeared without any trace. Dare Odufowokan, Yetunde Oladeinde and Joke Kujenya examined this worrying phenomenon in their article titled;   Missing: How Nigerians are disappearing without trace   and I want to share it with you . LOSING a relative or a loved one to death can be traumatic. It is, however, worse when such people are missing and you are not sure whether they are dead or alive. This is what happens to people who learn that those they treasure so much have vanished. All over the world, frantic efforts have been made by friends, relatives and loved ones of missing people in the past. Reported and known cases are taken seriously and followed up to ensure that they are found. A few weeks back, protesters took over streets in Islamabad, Pakista

New Year On My Mind 1

If you are reading this article, it simply means that you are alive today or do dead people also surf the web?  …Clearing my throat. Yipee !!!! It's the 31 st of December and I am sure most of you are eager to embrace the New Year and say goodbye to 2015. I am not sure how I feel about the New Year plus I don' know why my brain is still booting. Anyways, moving on.

New Year On My Mind 2

I strongly feel that the New Year should not be an End or a time to set New Goals. It should be a time to Review and Continue our resolution to achieve already set goals. In other words, if you failed to achieve any goal in the previous years, the New Year is an opportunity for you to work harder at achieving it. It definitely is not a day for you to sit back, mourn your losses, beat yourself up for not sticking to that schedule and then write down a very strict schedule for the New Year. Today should be the day you thank God for keeping you alive to see another beautiful day, toast yourself for your numerous big or little achievements in 2015, review and learn from your mistakes or setbacks, and seek ways of improving yourself so as to achieve your life goals.

Seasons Greetings!!

One Night II

DEDICATED TO ALL WHO HAVE LOST A LOVED ONE Do you recall the story of Pete and Emilia? The story I said would send chills down your spine? Yeah, that story. It made it to our top three for the Christmas Season. If you still can’t remember the story line, kindly search this blog for ONE NIGHT cos   I no dey mood for linking up today oh...mscheew! It has been over a year since my friend vanished. Our almost daily trips to the Police station yielded no results. The Police eventually lost interest in the matter and we were advised to go home and pray for Emilia.

Confessions 3

Due to popular demand, Confessions made it to the top 3. To keep up with Tim's story, find   CONFESSIONS 2 Our honeymoon night was perfect. It was at our new home, a mansion from my dad. A look at my brides face confirmed that I had lived up to her expectations and if not for exhaustion, we would have stayed awake all through the night. As I watched my celebrity wife fall asleep in my arms, I felt like a man who had won the lotto. I got married to every man’s dream wife and also remained the heir to my dad’s vast wealth. I was indeed a happy and fulfilled man. Before long, I also slept off with a heart filled with joy and a great sense of accomplishment.

A Gift From Me

Image
Hello everyone, Since Christmas is all about giving and I strongly believe that people should practice what they preach, we have decided to open the floor with a special gift from all of us at Nikkyivy'sblog.  So, in the spirit of the season, I'm still basking in the euphoria of the season , and for making out time to read our numerous published stories, we are going to give you all something special in return. This is how it works:

No Money No Christmas 1

Image
It is no longer news that I love the Christmas Season. The news is that I detest how we have monetized the celebration in Nigeria. When I was a kid, Christmas meant gifts, parties, games, fun and dance competitions and I always won all the dance competitions, you wan try ? Christmas parties were a must and the best part was getting a wrapped package from Father Christmas or Santa, if you wish. The gifts were always more than enough. The perk was having to sit on the lap of this funny looking Father Christmas with the fake laughter. We knew the guy behind the white mask was dark but hey it was Christmas and we didn't care.

Magic In The Air

I woke up today with a smile and a lovely tune in my head. By the way, I love this song by Sinach “I know who I am”, I sang it all night, probably danced to it in my sleep and this morning in the bathroom I swear my voice sounded better than Sinach’s…LOL! I beg you, do not to be confused by my wonderful mood. I didn't win MTN's fictitious Aeroplane, Sigh . Its simply that time of the year when I get possessed by a divine, awesome feeling that makes me come alive. At this time, it takes all my willpower to suppress the urge to dance to the lovely tune in my head during official functions and my usual daily routine. I always find myself nodding.

I am a Nigerian. I am Not Evil.

Dear Nikky. After reading your article on Spousal murder , I felt it imperative to add my voice to yours by boldly pointing out that SPOUSAL MURDER IS NOT A NIGERIAN THING. I am a Nigerian, a husband and a father. I have been married to my wife for seven years. In all these seven years, I am proud to say that I have never lifted a finger against her, I have been a loving, caring, stable and by God ’ s grace and in the words of my wife; “ a super-wonderful husband and father ” . That is why I take exception to articles and stories all over the web painting Nigerian men as uncaring, callous and wife-hating husbands.  E very marriage has its ups and downs but it takes a real man to keep the flag of his marriage flying. Like every married couple, w e have had our set-backs, temptations and misunderstandings but in the midst of them, we never lost sight of our love and commitment to each other. We always found a way to settle and have always pulled through together as a fam
