Afloat Season 3 E. 9

Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.

Maitama, Abuja -

The moment the gatemen let them in, Tricia disappeared into the house. She had ignored him on the way back so he sensed she had probably gone to lock herself up in her room upstairs. He could guess she was secretly plotting her revenge so there was no way he was letting her out of his sight.

David instantly made up his mind to spend the night in Alex's home since he could not afford to pay the bodyguards for the twenty-four hours service. It was not part of the birthday plan and he had spent almost all the money Alex transferred to him on the failed evening with Tricia. Of course, Alex would definitely refund him when he returned but his funds were tied up somewhere so he had no extra to spare on bodyguards.

Once he dismissed the bodyguards and Alex's official driver, he slowly trudged up the flight of stairs leading to the front door. The maid locked the door after him the moment he strode into the massive living room of the mansion still clutching onto the bottle of vodka.

He was no stranger to Alex's home and knew the layout off heart. He went over to the gold studded bar which was personally designed by Alex in search of his favorite wine glass. The strong shelves firmly bore the weight of the various exotic wines, beverages and spirits. The transparent fridge showed off an array of soft drinks and bottles of beer of different brands and David grinned. He suddenly wanted to pop a bottle of champagne but after a brief thought he  decided to start the night with his vodka.

"Sir do you need anything else?"

He turned from pouring himself a drink to see the sleepy maid standing behind him;

"I will take care of myself. You can go to bed now." He said calmly.

She thanked him and went off towards the kitchen. After awhile David heard the backdoor close. The maids all lived at their quarters which was a stone's throw from the main house. Alex loved his privacy and made sure the helps sleeping area which in Davids opinion was too fancy for housing house helps, was far from his home.

Alex's life was just perfect and David secretly wished the tables could be turned even if it was for a day.  Sighing, he picked up his drink plus the bottle and headed for the living room.
