Phone ringing

Customer care: Good morning madam

Bola: How may I help you?

Customer Care: We have noticed that you have an old inactive account with our bank what would you like to do with it?

Bola: I have a new active account with your bank and I mandated my branch to close the old one.

Customer care: Okay ma. Kindly visit our nearest branch and mandate them to close the inactive account.

Next day, she went to the nearest branch. A mean faced young man collected her details and all the requirements.

He said; Account closed. Have a nice day.

3 years later. Phone rings

Customer care: Good morning madam

Bola: Good morning. How may I help you?

Customer care: ...We have noticed that you have an old inactive account with us. Kindly visit any of our branches with your details...

Me: I don't get it! Same call from same bank on same issue after 3 years of due compliance?
Has something gone wrong with our banking system?
Has the regular and almost frequent downsizing affected their efficiency and productivity?

Anyway, since Bola is still looking for someone to answer my questions let me go and watch the world cup...
