Tesa - A Vow to Hate
Dashing into the room, I grabbed my phone and with a flirting gaze at the screen, answered the call I had been yearning for.The grin on my face widened in response to that enticing deep voice at the other end. The melodious giggle struck a note in my heart; a heart that was throbbing with endless love. I could not control the sudden sputter of laughter that escaped my lips as I listened attentively to that exquisitely-charming sonorous voice.
My lips tingled and yearned for his eager ones as the thought of them devouring mine set my body aflame. My soul was his. Time stood still and nothing else mattered. I was a woman in love.

Their laughter? Oh what a dark day for my once pure soul; if only walls could talk. Nothing would ever dull the pain nor erase the memories of their gloating faces and the sound of my whimpering as my sedated body bore the torture of their unsatiated desires night after night. I was a prisoner in my own home!
A prisoner to a beast and his pack of wolves! I was desecrated on the altar of my matrimonial bed by my lover and his gang of hoodlums. My weak sobs was music to their ears as my body bore their endless torture. My muffled wails to the gods of my fathers only got me mocked and earned me more bruises. I wished to join my ancestors as nothing but my death would stop them. I was a woman humiliated.
But the sheep developed fangs. The moon and the stars shuddered at my rebirth. The world heard the sordid tale of their massacre and I was at peace when my jailer found a resting place among the dead. I reclaimed my honor.
I am a woman liberated and my broken soul knows no vegeance.

say no to domestic violence
I could feel the passion, the pain and sadness of the narrator.
ReplyDeleteI love this and I know you must have heard this a million times, but NIKKY O YOU ARE TALENTED!!! Thank you for dedicating this to victims of domestic violence. Anyone who has experienced it first hand will understand the shame and pain felt by the victims especially in a country like ours where victims are left to recover on their own, the criminals are usually found not guilty and there is little or no justice
Awwww thank you Anonymous.Keep reading and keep commenting
DeleteI could not wait, to get home and out of the shower. Its been a long day but still incomplete without the vibrations from the other end of the phone. My lover; I could not wait to join her.

Fast forward 2 years later; after the marriage; vows had been exhanged and babies were made; 2 cute angels in rapid succession; a boy that looked just like me and a girl, just like her. Beautiful beings. There would be nothing, absolutely nothing, to compare with this love.
Something set in, was it the revealation and the understanding for not being able to love again? Something inexplicable. But you know what? It is a sacrifice, never to say an abusive word to her; never to lift a finger on her. Just like a great teacher taught me, she is an incubator; whatever you give her, she multiplies and gives them back to you.
If she ever said anything rude, it must have been my fault. This is where wisdom set in. You see, wisdom married with love is such a beautiful thing. You can find balance without judging your self or being judged. This might sound cliche, but, we found love in a hopeless place.
An adjustment to fit in, with this partner. Domestic assault may not just be physical. Careful not to let your anger spike young man. For you are raw muscles and brute force. She is only a gentle flower. Her tongue may be swords, blazing with flames. But you are hers to protect her and love her.
Give her a house and she will give you a home. Give her sperm and she will give you children. Give her sweet words, and she will give you a sweet world.
Nice One Ivy
