My Cross, My Sacrifice
This story by an NIB fan made my day. Please read on
I could not wait, to get home and out of the shower. It had been a long day but still incomplete without the vibrations from the other end of the phone. My lover; I could not wait to join her.
Fast forward, 2
years later; after the marriage; vows had been exchanged and babies were
made; two cute angels in rapid succession; a boy that looked just like me
and a girl, just like her. Beautiful beings. There would be nothing,
absolutely nothing, to compare with this love.
Something set in,
was it the revelation and the understanding of not being able to love
again? Something inexplicable. But you know what? It is a sacrifice,
never to say an abusive word to her; never to lift a finger at her. Just
like a great teacher taught me, she is an incubator; whatever you give
her, she multiplies and gives them back to you.
If she ever
said anything rude, it must have been my fault. This is where wisdom sets
in. You see, wisdom married with love is such a beautiful thing. You
can find balance without judging your self or being judged. This might
sound cliche, but, we found love in a hopeless place.
An adjustment to fit in, with this partner. Domestic assault may not just be physical. Careful not to let your anger spike young man. For you are raw muscles and brute force. She is only a gentle flower. Her tongue may be swords, blazing with flames. But she is yours to protect and love.
Give her a house and she will give you a home. Give her sperm and she will give you children. Give her sweet words, and she will give you a sweet world.
Goes to show that men can also be emotionally abused by wives.
ReplyDeleteMy wife is very good at this. God help me to resist the urge to slap her one day.
Dear Lekan I suggest you have a discussion with your wife. Tell her you are hurting and help her to overcome her shortcomings.
